Easier than humanities, thats for sure. Reading comprehension and elements of poetry and prose. All i used was the REA - The Best Test Prep for the CLEP.
Used REA book and studied for about 5 evenings after work and passed with no prior lit exp. The poetry was the most challenging but overall the test was not that hard. I would suggest getting the REA book, doing the practice tests and just familiarizing yourself with the types of things that you will be reading.
Took two practice exams and read the 70 pages of info in the REA book. Not a bad test, passed with a 55 and got 6 credits for it.
This test was a little tricky but, I will admit that I took it “ice cold”. I didn’t study for it at all! In fact, it was my first CLEP ever. I only got a 54, which was not exactly a score that earned “bragging rights” for me or anything. However, earning 6 credits on a test with absolutely ZERO study is not too bad at all. I would highly recommend this one for a first-time CLEP - not because it is easy, but because it is very doable for the average person.
Took after roughly two weeks and got a 65. The REA book doesn’t really help much-you’re either going to pass or you’re not, if that makes any sense. Not real hard, just requires some different thinking. Worth taking for six credits.
