if you’ve taken the Psychology or Sociology exam some of the information you learned shows up on Principles of Management.
Things like Maslow’s hierarchy of needs and behavioral factors. From sociology there questions involving the Hawthorne Effect, different types of authority and of course Max Weber.
Key names to remember for Principles of Management are Simon Herbert, Frank Gilbreth (Managemet by objectives), Fredrick Taylor (Scientific Management), Henri Fayol (Classical Management), and Peter Drucker. These names are crucial to passing the test and so are their theories.
Other little things to remember are organizing, leading, planning, controlling, and staff. These are all functions of management. Also remember operation aspects of management and different types of management roles. InstantCert and Finish College Fast do and excellent job of explaining these things.
A lot easier than I thought it would be. I wish I knew about credit by exam prior to taking all my freshman requirements. I use instantcert and intro to managment book. I could of passed using either by themselves. Look at the exam description at clep.com. easy credits.
Principles of Management was one of the easier exams. I got a 70 on it and I only used InstantCert. Howard F. summarized the basics of what you are going to need to know in order to pass. For the most part, it was really straightforward.
In summary, I wouldn’t try to take it “cold” or anything, but a relatively short brush up on your facts will certainly earn you 3 credits!
